With the weather forecast set fair and a great theme for the day, it was obvious that it was going to be another bright and colourful day.
As usual it was an early start for the volunteers who had been busy getting the Rec ready and by 1:30 when the procession met on Parc y Pro, all was set. This year the procession was led by Adamant New Orleans Jazz Brass Band, followed by the Carnival King and Queen.
Once on the field, there was something for all ages - games and side shows, golf, 5-a-side football, coconut shy, bouncy castle, roundabout, and a variety of stalls selling such things as plants, books, cards, bottles, skin products, cakes, etc., refreshments included a beer tent, barbecue, pizza, cakes and ice creams.
As always the floats were colourful and imaginative and proved very difficult to judge. However, this year's Judges, Simon and Catrin Finch finally decided on
