After last year’s eventful carnival, all the organisers this year were hoping for a quieter day. With the week up to the event having the usual Open Gardens, Disco and Quiz, there was much anticipation for this year’s main event.
Recent history would suggest that it was going to be a damp day. However, as the day broke, it was clear that it was going to be a fine day.
It was clear that this year’s theme, ‘Video Games’, was going to provide ample opportunity for a number of bright and colourful floats.
As usual the procession was headed by Samba Galles, followed by the King and Queen and a number of noisy and colourful floats as they left Parc-y-Fro Green and proceeded around the village towards the Recreation field. On the field, there was something for all ages -games and side shows, 5-a-side football, cricket, coconut shy, bouncy castle, roundabout, and a variety of stalls selling such things as plants, books, cards, bottles, skin products, cakes, etc., refreshments included a beer tent, barbecue, teas, coffees, cakes, ice creams and candy floss.
